Fourth Quarter Earnings and News Release


DALLAS, TEXAS -- Total Entertainment Restaurant Corp. announced record fourth quarter earnings and sales for the sixteen weeks ended December 30, 1997.

Net income increased 109.2% for the fourth quarter to $657,000 or $.06 per share compared with $314,000 or $.04 per share for the corresponding seventeen week period last year. For the year, net income was $1,080,000 or $.12 per share, compared with $786,000 or $.10 per share last year.
Fourth quarter sales increased 29.9% to $6,814,000 compared to $5,245,000 for the same period last year. Annual sales increased 25.1% to $18,570,000 compared to $14,844,000 last year.

Comparable store sales for the fourth quarter declined 0.6% and increased 2.7% for the year.
Fourth quarter restaurant operating income increased 44.7% to $1,679,000 compared to $1,161,000 for the same period last year. Annual restaurant operating income increased 41.1% to $4,324,000 compared to $3,065,000 last year.

One Bailey's Sports Grille unit and two Fox & Hound English Pub and Grille units were opened in two new markets during the quarter bringing the number of units opened this year to five. The new units opened this quarter are: Nashville#2, TN
Omaha, NE
Aurora, IL

The Company currently operates six Fox & Hound English Pub and Grilles and ten Bailey's Sports Grilles in fifteen markets.
